The theater department at Flagler Palm Coast High School will present one of William Shakespeare’s most well-known comedies as its Fall production.
A cast of about 30 students will perform “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” for four shows opening 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30. Shows will also be 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, and 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1.
The show is one that teacher Kelly Nelson has always wanted to do with the students, but one she was a little scared to pursue at first.
“When I was younger, I was in a workshop that did ‘Midsummer,’ so I’ve always had a special place for that show in my heart,” Nelson said. “I wanted to challenge my advanced students, but the freshman are jumping in and doing a great job as well. They’re handling it beautifully.”
A special showing of the family-friendly comedy will be on Halloween night. Audience members are encouraged to wear costumes. Patrons in costume will get in for half-price tickets and can enter a costume contest for $1.
Ticket prices are $12 for adults, $6 for students and $3 for children 10 and under.
