The Flagler Palm Coast High School swimming teams swept Father Lopez Thursday, Sept. 29, at the Frieda Zamba Swimming Complex.

The boys team, led by Josh Dixon and Bobby Harrison, defeated Lopez, 113-53.

The 200-meter medley relay team finished nine seconds ahead of the second-place team.

On the girls side, Julie Concannon and Margaret Cruz helped set the pace. The girls team defeated Lopez, 121-47.

“Overall, we felt it was a good team effort,” said coach Daniel Cruz. “We were especially impressed with the performance of our younger up-and-coming swimmers.”

FPC’s boys team took first place in all but two events. Meanwhile, the girls team failed to take first place in only one event.

FPC and Matanzas will have a crosstown showdown in the pool Friday, Oct. 21, at Frieda Zamba.
