The junior and senior girls took the field Monday, Oct. 3, for the annual Powder Puff Football game.

The seniors dominated ball possession, winning the game 32-6.

Quarterback Ashton Steven started the scoring off with a run for a touchdown in the first quarter, followed by a pass to Lee Ann Spivey, who ran the ball for a touchdown in the second quarter.

Stevens ran the ball again for a third-quarter touchdown, bringing the score to 20-0.

It was almost a shutout, with two touchdown passes thrown by Stevens to Robyn Spicer in the fourth, when relief quarterback Brie Smith ran the ball into the end zone with less than 20 seconds left in the game.

“I think (powder puff) is important because the whole school comes out, and you have the boys cheering, supporting,” said senior Diajah Davis. “It’s a competitive thing to do, something fun during homecoming.”
