FPC advances five individuals, two relays to regionals

The Flagler Palm Coast Swimming teams competed in the district meet Friday, Oct. 28, at Fletcher High School, in Jacksonville.

The boys team finished ninth overall, and the girls team finished seventh overall. There were a total of 11 teams in the district.

Regional qualifiers are as follows:

Carolyne Vasconcellos qualified in the 100-yard backstroke and the 100-yard freestyle. Vasconcellos finished the backstroke race in 1:03.10, breaking the previous FPC record of 1:03.77.

Julie Concannon qualified in the 200-yard freestyle and the 500-yard freestyle.

Margarat Cruz qualififed in the 100-yard freestyle.

Nomari Marrero qualified in the 200-yard individual medley.

Robert Harrison qualified in the 100-yard backstroke.

Also, the boys 200-yard and 400-yard freestyle relays qualified, as did both relays from the girls team.

The regional meet will take place Thursday, Nov. 3, at Bolles High School, in Jacksonville.
