In anticipation of increasing staffing needs at hurricane shelters across the state, Governor Rick Scott issued a call to state employees across Florida encouraging them to volunteer to support the state’s emergency shelter mobilization efforts, according to an email from Scott.
In his email, Scott also urged Floridians to consider becoming certified American Red Cross Disaster Services volunteers.
Volunteer recruitment is one of the biggest needs in the state right now, Scott wrote.
Floridians may register for an American Red Cross certification here.
