Flagler County’s non-seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for January 2011 is 16.0%, according to the numbers released March 10 by the Agency for Workforce Innovation. Flagler now has the highest jobless rate in Florida.

“While Florida’s unemployment rate is still unacceptably high, we are seeing positive signs that employers are starting to hire,” said Agency for Workforce Innovation Director Cynthia R. Lorenzo.

The metropolitan statistical area of Palm Coast continues to rank No. 1 with the state’s highest unemployment at 16.0%.
