The September 2011 unemployment rates in the counties that comprise the Center for Business Excellence region were 14.6 % in Flagler County. The state rate was 10.6%.
Nonagricultural employment in the Palm Coast metro area (Flagler County) was 17,600 in September 2011.
Total nonagricultural employment decreased by 3.3% (-600 jobs) over the year. Statewide, employment increased by 1.1 percent over the same time period.
Trade, transportation, and utilities and leisure and hospitality (+100 jobs each) were the only major sectors that gained jobs over the year. Manufacturing, financial activities, and education and health services remained unchanged over the year.
Government (-300 jobs); information (-200 jobs); mining, logging, and construction, professional and business services, and other services (-100 jobs each) lost jobs over the year.
