The 27th-annual Biketoberfest runs Oct. 17-20, 2019, and Sheriff Rick Staly has authorized increased patrols countywide with a focus on State Road A1A and U.S. 1. Biketoberfest is an annual motorcycle rally hosted in Daytona Beach and is expected to draw more than 125,000 visitors. Many visitors pass through Flagler County or attend events at venues along A1A, U.S. 1, and State Road 100.

The DUI patrol unit will also be in effect Friday through Sunday. Message boards will be displayed at high-traffic areas to remind drivers to “Watch for Bikes; Look Twice to Save a Life.”

“We welcome the visitors to our great community and our main goal is to keep everyone safe," Staly said. "Watch for bikers before changing lanes or driving through intersections. Looking twice could save a life. As always, drive sober and free from distractions.”
