The Bulldogs won the meet 195-145, as both FPC teams defeated Matanzas High School Friday, Oct. 21.
Flagler Palm Coast and Matanzas high schools battled it out Friday, Oct. 21, for Flagler County pool supremacy.
The Bulldogs prevailed, as the boys team won 98-72, and the girls defeated Matanzas 97-73.
Glenn Partelow, boys coach for Matanzas, said most of the meet was evenly matched. A highlight for the Pirates was the final race of the day, the boys 400-yard freestyle relay. The Pirates team was trailing, but ended up passing the Bulldogs en route to a first-place finish in a school-record time of 3 minutes, 46 seconds.
The Pirates will compete in the district meet Saturday, Oct. 29, in Sebastian.
