Robert Carlson is a veteran of the Korean War. He was inducted into the U.S. Army and left his hometown of Moline, Illinois, on Sept. 16, 1952.

After serving honorably and receiving the Korean Service Ribbon with Bronze Service Star, United Nations Service Medal, and National Defense Service Medal, he returned to his quiet town in August 1954. Carlson got hired by International Harvester and worked for them in various capacities for 28 years.

A prolific golfer, Carlson moved to year-round golfing weather in Palm Coast with his wife, Jacquelyn, 32 years ago. Carlson recently celebrated his 90th birthday.
