Kenneth Klinkenberg

Hometown: Jamaica, New York

Kenneth Klinkenberg was inducted into the U.S. Army in 1954, and went to bootcamp at Fort Dix, New Jersey. After initial training as a transportation specialist and transferred to Fort Eustis, Virginia. He was assigned to a unit responsible for delivering supplies to the U.S. Air Force stationed at the Distance Early Warning Line. The DEW Line was a system of radar stations in the northern Arctic region of Canada.

After completing his tour in the Army in 1956, Klinkenberg worked for a time as a bank auditor before becoming a New York City Police officer in 1960. He was promoted to investigator and served in the NYPD for 33 years.

Klinkenberg moved to Palm Coast with his wife, Ann, in 1994, They have been married for 63 years and have three daughters and four grandchildren. Klinkenberg has been active in community service with his church and in other capacities, including membership in American Legion Post 115.
