The Volusia/Flagler Early Learning Coalition, Flagler County Schools, and others will be co-sponsoring
Flagler Children’s Day 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 9, at the Government Services Building.

There will be entertainment, food, and festivities for children and adults during this time.

To introduce the state-wide event in Flagler County, the school board is requesting that children (daycares, VPK, and elementary schools) create hand art to hang from the stair rails in the GSB.

Children’s hand artwork should be stapled or taped onto string or ribbon vertically in lengths of 8-, 10-, or 12-feet. Hands must be hung vertically and strung together before submitting. Please secure hands firmly and do not send them without connecting them together.

All artwork will be hung vertically from railing/ceiling toward the floor.

Flagler County hand art should be sent to Student Services in the Government Services building no later than Feb. 22.

The event aims to have a large area for crafts and children’s activities. Groups who would like to have a table for crafts, information or demonstration should email [email protected].

Student entertainment is also needed. Time blocks can be broken into segments from 5 minutes to half-an-hour. There is an outside area for dancing and large groups, and several inside areas that will accommodate single and multiple performers. Interested performers should contact Katrina
Townsend at 437-7526 or [email protected].

Vendors and businesses who provide services, activities and items for children may have a table to provide information to families at the event. Vendors may not sell items on site. Contact [email protected]. The table fee is $20.00. There is no table fee for non-profit organizations who provide children’s services.

Lastly, event organizers are seeking volunteers. Volunteer hours can be validated for student transcripts. Contact Townsend at [email protected] to volunteer.
