Flagler Broadcasting's Food-A-Thon raises $125,000 for Grace Community Food Pantry

The cash will buy $625,000 worth of food.

Flagler Broadcasting's Food-A-Thon raised $125,000 for the Grace Community Food Pantry in six hours on July 8.

Grace Tabernacle Ministries Pastor Charles Silano, the founder of the Grace Community Food Pantry, has connections that allow him to buy $5 worth of food for $1, so the money raised will buy $625,000 worth of food for local families.

The Food-A-Thon, organized by Flagler Broadcasting President and CEO David Ayres, ran live on Flagler Broadcasting's radio stations from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on July 8. It had a $200,000 goal, which would have translated into $1 million in food.

The Grace Community Food Pantry serves about 3,500 families each month. Local families that sign up and qualify will receive a $100 box of food each week. To donate, go to gracecommunityfoodpantry.com/how-you-can-help.php.
