The Department of Health supports reopening of bathrooms, to encourage hand-washing.

Flagler Beach's public restrooms and boardwalk will reopen at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 23, the city announced in a press release. The pier itself, and parking immediately in front of the pier on State Road A1A, will remain closed.

Public restrooms are open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Parking remains closed from South Second Street to South Sixth Street.

“The DOH-Flagler supports the opening of the public restrooms at the pier in Flagler Beach because this action reflects the importance of personal hygiene and another option for frequent hand washing to prevent spread of the virus,” said Bob Snyder, health officer for the Department of Health-Flagler.

Fishing on the beach and the walking of pets will only be permitted north of 10th Street North and south of 10th Street South.
