Flagler Auditorium

In its continuing support of arts education in the community, Flagler Auditorium, together with Flagler Broadcasting, is holding a special fundraiser for Flagler Schools’ newest and most promising music students. The March 27 performance event begins at 7 p.m., presenting the music of the incomparable band, the Beatles.

The performance is a fully costumed tribute by BeatleBeat, tracing the rise of the Beatles through its nearly two-decade dominance of the world’s most popular art form.

Looking ahead to the newest generation of musicians, the event will also focus on the many talented musical students in the Flagler school system and Kids Rock the Nation, founded by Palm Coast’s own Anthony Wild. The locally-based program provides mentoring, musical instruments, and financial support to promising young local musicians.

The band features world-class musicians dedicated to capturing the unique nuance that made the Beatles what it became in the 1960s and '70s. Writes one reviewer, “The tribute is a totally self-contained theatrical experience that takes audiences on a vivid musical trip through the Beatles’ triumphant rise as one of the planet’s most influential cultural forces.”

The concert’s proceeds will be donated to Flagler Auditorium’s ongoing commitment to providing financial support of music and theater students. The auditorium underwrites attendance at summer music camps, awards grants to music and dance and art teachers, and provides students with technical theater career training. The auditorium has awarded 128 scholarships to area arts students since 1997.

Kids Rock the Nation was founded in 2009 by accomplished local musician Anthony Wild, and provides instruments, music lessons, and financial support to local youth. Flagler Auditorium and Flagler Broadcasting are honoring Wild at the concert with a special award and recognition as one of the community’s most important advocates for the promotion of arts and music in our schools.

Says David Ayres, general manager of Flagler Broadcasting, “Flagler Broadcasting and Palm Coast Oldies, KOOL 100.9 FM, are proud of our partnership with the auditorium. Not only are we able to bring the best entertainment to the community but also make significant financial help to local schools and other foundations such as Kids Rock the Nation.”

In accordance with CDC guidelines, the auditorium audience will be at 25% capacity.  Health screening, temperature checks, and face coverings are required. The auditorium employs a newly installed state-of-the-art circulating clean air system utilizing Global Plasma Technology.
