First Baptist Christian Academy wins first-ever football game in program history

FBCA head coach Charlie Washington said 85% of the team's players never played organized tackle football prior to the start of the season.

First Baptist Christian Academy introduced football to its athletic program for the first time at the start of the school year, and on Friday, Aug. 25, the Crusaders celebrated a win in the first game played in program history.

FBCA defeated First Coast Christian 38-6.

On offense, the Crusaders’ Dahrius Boboycan had four catches for 65 yards and three touchdowns, and on defense, Zayne Smith racked up three tackles and three interceptions, according to a release.

Head coach Charlie Washington said 85% of the team’s players never played organized tackle football prior to Friday’s game.

“I am very proud of our boys and see a bright future for them,” Washington said in a release.
