First Baptist Church of Palm Coast baptized 25 new believers ages 6 to 84, Sunday, Sept. 25, at its annual church picnic and ocean baptism.

The tradition began when the church participated in the Halifax Baptist Association’s ocean baptism several years ago, in Daytona Beach.

“We participated with seven candidates and really had a great response for our people,” said the Rev. Dennis Littleton. “We decided to do it every year.”

Being in close proximity to the ocean, the church decided to make the ocean baptism an annual event.

Neveah, a ladies gospel group, provided music at the event, and Littleton presented “A Hand With Baptism,” an evangelistic piece explaining baptism.
