Open your fire pits and light up your sparklers, Flagler County. It’s completely legal.

Flagler County staff announced today that, for the first time since April 21, Flagler County’s burn ban was not renewed, as of 5 p.m. Thursday, July 7.

A series of on-again-off-again bans had been in place before that, since December 27.

The average county drought index is currently 418, on a scale of 0 to 800. At the fires’ height, the index reached beyond 700.
