Prosperity Bank Senior Vice President and Commercial Area Manager Garry Lubi presented a lesson in financial literacy to senior students in Libbey Webb’s financial math class at Matanzas High School. Lubi’s presentation comes from a partnership between The Prosperity Bank Foundation and EverFiTM to help students learn saving for their future, using credit cards and the importance of maintaining a healthy credit score.
Last month, Webb incorporated into her financial math class curriculum the EverFiTM Financial Literacy Platform, a web-based program, which uses video, animations, 3-D gaming, avatars, and social networking to bring complex financial concepts to life.
“The students enjoyed hearing from representatives in the banking sector and really enjoyed hearing your early experiences with ... credit cards,” said Webb.
Through the EverFi platform, students will become certified in more than 600 topics in financial education, allowing them to become more informed, responsible citizens. The Prosperity Bank Foundation provides the interactive financial management program at no cost to the school.
Currently, The Prosperity Bank Foundation has partnered with the following high schools in Northeast Florida: St. Joseph Academy, St. Augustine, Allen D. Nease, Flagler Palm Coast, Matanzas, and Bartram Trail.
