Flagler County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a call about a physical disturbance that was occurring in the parking lot of the Old Country Store on County Road 305 on June 29 in Bunnell. Deputies were told by dispatch that the suspect involved in the disturbance was attempting to leave the scene in a silver Cadillac.

Upon arrival, deputies saw Henry Brock, 29, driving a silver Cadillac away from the parking lot and heading west on Mahogany.

Deputies pursued the vehicle for several miles. Brock ignored all attempts made by deputies to get him to pull over and continued driving recklessly, endangering other motorists along the way. Eventually, Brock brought the vehicle to a stop after a civilian driving a Dodge pickup truck parked in front of him, blocking his path.

FCSO surrounded the vehicle and made verbal commands for Brock to exit the vehicle.

Brock did exit the vehicle and was immediately arrested. Deputies then located Brock’s victim in the backseat. Her eye was swollen, her feet were bleeding and bruised, and her face was covered in blood. Emergency medical services arrived on scene but the victim ultimately denied transport to the hospital.

Deputies interviewed the victim but she was extremely confused and could not remember what had happened. During the interview process, Brock repeatedly yelled from inside his patrol car for the victim not to answer questions and to not allow deputies to photograph her injuries, attempting to intimidate her.

Surveillance footage was recovered from the Old Country Store that showed Brock approaching the victim’s vehicle (silver Cadillac) and belly flop onto the hood of the car, preventing her from leaving. Brock then punched the windshield and broke it in several places.  The victim exited the vehicle and attempted to flee when Brock grabbed the driver side door and closed it on her, pinning her between the door and the vehicle.

The victim fell to the ground and Brock continued beating her with his fists and then tried to put her unconscious body into the back seat. The victim woke up and complied with Brock and sat herself in the backseat of the vehicle. Brock then entered the driver's seat and exited the parking lot.

This is not Brock’s first encounter with law enforcement. He has a lengthy criminal record in Flagler County dating back to 2008 for dating violence, battery, domestic battery, simple assault, burglary and more.

“This incident could have had a very different outcome,” Sheriff Rick Staly said. “I believe his intention was to kill his victim and had a witness not call us and our deputies not located them who knows what else may have happened. This is an extremely violent person who has been arrested multiple times. He needs to be locked-up for a very long time before he actually kills somebody.”

Brock was charged with domestic aggravated battery, among other charges. He is currently being held at the Flagler County Jail on a $30,500 bond.
