UPDATE: Friday, March 13: The Florida Sheriff's Association has decided to postpone Operation Dry Streets due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A new date will be announced for the operation when it is set.

The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office has joined the Florida Sheriffs Association, Florida Police Chiefs Association, and the Florida Highway Patrol to launch Operation Dry Streets, a joint statewide initiative that focuses on keeping the roads safe for citizens and visitors across Florida.
The operation targets those who drive impaired and otherwise jeopardize public safety by disobeying the traffic laws.
This involves a three-day operation in all 67 Florida counties that includes identifying traffic violators and visible signs of impairment, enhancing overall safety, raising community awareness, and more.
Enforcement operations run March 13-15 with a goal of creating a safe environment to protect citizens and visitors with a statewide presence, enforcement, and education efforts. Sheriff Staly was selected to lead Flagler County efforts.
“We’re proud to participate in Operation Dry Streets with our law enforcement partners and will have an increased presence on our roadways this weekend,” Sheriff Rick Staly said. “Our goal is to create a safe environment for our citizens and visitors, and Operation Dry Streets will help us in our efforts, especially during Bike Week. Never drink and drive, and always pay attention to the roadway and drive free from distractions.”
