Driver rear-ends motorcycle deputy

A Flagler County Sheriff’s Office motorcycle deputy was rear-ended around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, while he was assisting with another traffic stop, according to state troopers.

William Lowe, 24, was on scene assisting another deputy when a passenger car failed to observe a traffic stop and ran into the back of Lowe, according to Lt. Bill Leeper, of the Florida Highway Patrol.

The car, a 1998 Nissan four-door, was driven by Margie Hitas, 36, of Palm Coast, according to Leeper.

Lowe was transported to Florida Hospital Flagler with minor injuries. Hitas also sustained minor injuries but was not transported.

Correction
Flagler County Sheriff's deputy William Lowe was traveling southbound on Belle Terre Parkway April 6 and failed to observe traffic stopped ahead. He ran into the back of a vehicle occupied by Margie Hitas, who was stopped.
