Flagler County Sheriff's Office deputies found a dead body April 7 when they searched the home of a man who'd recently been reported missing.

The Sheriff's Office executed the search warrant at about 8 a.m. on the property of Charles William "Butch" Singer, at 80 Pine Tree Lane in Bunnell, according to a Sheriff's Office news release.

Singer, 48, had been reported missing March 23 and had last been seen about two months ago. A Sheriff's Office news release issued April 4 reporting him missing noted that he was disabled, legally blind and did not have a driver's license.

Deputies have not confirmed the identity of the body found at his property, according to the news release.

Sheriff's Office deputies, members of the Sheriff’s Office Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team and members of the State Attorney’s Office Homicide Investigations Unit executed the search warrant, with Sheriff Rick Staly on the scene.

A cadaver dog brought in from the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office found the body at about 10:30 a.m. on a wooded section of the property. The Sheriff's Office contacted the Jacksonville-based Florida Department of Law Enforcement Crime Scene Unit to aid the Sheriff's Office's Crime Scene Unit, according to the news release.

Three people who occupied the property have been taken to the Sheriff's Office Operations Center for questioning, but no one has been charged or detained, according to a Sheriff's Office spokeswoman.

The death investigation is ongoing, and an autopsy will be performed.

"I am confident that our investigators and the Medical Examiner’s Office will be able to tell us more about the remains that were located on the property following an autopsy,” Staly said in the news release.

This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
