A man from Wichita, Kansas, is dead following a crash at the intersection of State Road A1A and 16th Road, in Flagler County.
George J. Kwasniak, 57, of Wichita, was driving a 2014 Ford Fusion westbound on 16th Road, in the Hammock, at 11:55 a.m. Saturday, May 10.
Kwasniak was at a stop sign, and for an unknown reason, he did not observe a second vehicle, a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe, driven by 41-year-old Colleen Renee Hess, of Palm Coast. Kwasniak attempted to make a left turn south onto State Road A1A, and he collided with Hess' vehicle, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
Kwasniak was taken to Florida Hospital Flagler and was pronounced dead there at 12:53 p.m.
Kwasniak's passenger, 58-year-old Vicky Kwasniak, also of Wichita, was left at Halifax Hospital in critical condition.
Hess was transported to Florida Hospital in Ormond Beach in serious condition.
