The following is a release from the Flagler County Sheriff's Office:

Four Detained After Vehicle Crash

Four young men were being held by Flagler County Sheriff’s Office’s investigators as possible suspects in a home burglary on Serbian Bellflower Trail in Palm Coast.

Deputies were responding to the home around 11 a.m. today when a vehicle fitting the description of the one driven by the suspects was located near Serbian Bellflower Trail. Deputies attempted to make a traffic stop, but the vehicle fled, turning on to U.S. 1, south of Bunnell, and heading north to State Road 100. The driver then turned eastbound onto State Road 100. The vehicle continued traveling down the highway almost to the Flagler County Courthouse, where the driver then made a U-turn, heading back west on State Road 100.

Deputies who were following the vehicle said the driver made an abrupt right turn causing a K-9 deputy to crash into the passenger-side rear tire of the vehicle, which stopped the vehicle on Old Moody Boulevard.

No injuries resulted from the crash.

Sheriff’s investigators currently are questioning the four suspects. Charges are pending.

“We are fortunate we were able to apprehend this driver before someone was seriously injured,” said Flagler County Sheriff Donald W. Fleming.

The identities of the four have not been determined as they are not cooperating with investigators at this time.
