The Flagler County Fire Rescue softball team defeated the Flagler Sheriff’s Young Guns in a single elimination softball tournament Saturday night.

The county team beat the Palm Coast Fire Rescue team earlier in the day and the Young Guns beat the Flagler Sheriff’s “older” team with a walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh to make it to the championship.

The tournament was put on by the Flagler Sheriff’s PAL, and proceeds will benefit its Sponsor a Child program. Assistant Director Kim Hale said she hopes to make the tournament an annual event and to gain involvement from surrounding areas.
