No, the three bears don’t live here
5:30 p.m. Palm Harbor Parkway. Burglary.
A woman who owned a condo building got a call from one of the condo’s board members Wednesday morning letting her know the back door of the condo was open. When she checked it, she saw the screen door was cut. Nothing in the condo was missing.
But someone had slept in the bed, and someone had used the microwave. There was a fork in the kitchen sink, and a deputy photographed it after she called to report the crime. The deputy’s report did not state that any porridge had been eaten. No one in the nearby units reported seeing anything suspicious, and the deputy left them with a business card.
Generatin’ some crime
11:30 a.m. 3000 Block of Steel Rail Drive, Bunnell. Burglary.
A deputy responded to the building after a report of a commercial burglary. The victim said his black and red generator, worth about $500, disappeared from a storage area within a fenced part of the property. There was no lock on the fence gate, but a lock on the container itself was missing. The deputy noted fresh tire marks in the sand in front of the storage area and concluded the generator may have been removed over night.
The deputy couldn’t lift fingerprints from the area because rain had washed them away, and there weren’t any nearby homes or businesses where someone may have seen anything suspicious. The deputy told the victim there will be an extra watch on the area because of the crime.

8:37 p.m. Boston Lane. Fraud.
A deputy responded to a report of fraud and spoke to a man who said he’d gotten a mysterious large bill. The bill, from electronics and computer equipment store TigerDirect.com, was for $3,497.75 for two charges. One was made from Tampa and one was made from Jacksonville. The bill said an account had been opened in the victim’s name; the victim said the account was opened fraudulently. He called TigerDirect.com to report the fraud, but the company required a police report to proceed. The case will be turned over to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office’s Investigative Services Division.

Wet bandits?
6:40 p.m. 100 Block of Plain View Drive. Property damage.
Whoever broke into a home on Plain View Drive Thursday had to leave their mark. A real estate agent was having the home renovated, and workers showed up one day to find that the bathroom sink had been clogged and left running. The home, a duplex, had water damage in both master bedrooms and damage to the walls and floors.
A deputy who spoke to the real estate agent Thursday afternoon noted that all of the home’s doors and windows were secured, and it wasn’t clear how anyone got inside. There are no suspects of witnesses.

1:36 p.m. 3 Old Kings Road. Counterfeit.
Two people showed up at a restaurant and tried to pass a counterfeit $10 bill. When a deputy showed up at the restaurant, they said they’d gotten the bill in change from the gas station on Clubhouse Drive. The deputy spoke to a gas station employee who said the two had bought items there and were given change.
He said the station only checks $50 and $100 bills to see if they’re counterfeit. The $10 was confiscated as evidence and will be destroyed.
