Larceny: Someone stole two Bliss Laser Light projectors worth about $150 each from a local man's front yard. There have been multiple thefts of laser holiday light projectors from residents' yards in recent weeks. The man reported the theft to the Sheriff's Office, and told a deputy that it happened sometime between 11:30 p.m. Dec. 20 and 5:30 p.m. Dec 21, according to a Sheriff's Office case report.

Breaking into one car to steal another

7:48 a.m. First block of Pinelynn Lane. Stolen vehicle. A thief who broke into a man's car discovered within it a set of keys for the man's second car, and used them to steal it. Both cars had been left in the man's driveway when the theft happened, according to a Sheriff's Office case report. The man told a Sheriff's Office deputy that his daughter had brought the family's gray Honda Cvivic home at about 10 p.m. Dec. 21 and parked it in the driveway next to the family's Nissan Xterra. When the man walked out into the driveway the next morning, the Honda was gone and the Xterra's front passenger door and center console were both open. A deputy canvassed the area and entered the car's information into national and state crime information databases.

On the wrong track

10:23 a.m. 2200 block of County Road 304. Larceny: A man noticed some foot tracks on his property that he could tell weren't his. The tracks didn't look like his girlfriend's, either. But his girlfriend told him that she'd seen a strange man on the property, and the man then realized that his Husqvarna weedwacker and Stihl chainsaw were missing, according to a Sheriff's Office case report. He'd left them on his front porch the day before. A deputy canvassed the area but didn't turn up any information that could identify a suspect.
