Paper, plastic or stroller?
8:45 a.m. — 5000 Block of East State Road 100. Shoplifting.
A deputy spoke with a loss prevention officer who saw two women enter the store together, take a stroller from the infant department, load it up with merchandise and leave without paying. The stroller was covered by a blanket.
The two loaded the stroller into a red Cadillac SUV, then came back into the store and headed for the accessory department, where they began packing merchandise into shopping bags. One of them noticed the officer, and both women dropped the bags and left the store. Most of the items in the bags were baby clothes. The loss prevention officer told the deputy the two women had been spotted in stores in Jacksonville and Daytona Beach taking similar items.

6:14 p.m. — Post Tree Lane. Fraud.
Deputies went to the home of a Palm Coast man who’d complained of fraud after receiving an email offer of $300 a week to wrap his car in an ad.
He responded, thinking he was about to make some quick money, and followed the directions in the email. When a $2,360 check arrived in the mail Oct. 4 and he took it to the bank, the bank employee warned him that it may be fraudulent and refused to cash it. The man wrote “void” across the check and called the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office. The check and emails were turned over to deputies as evidence.

Costume jewelry ... gone!
5:38 a.m. — Second Block of Emmons Lane. Larceny.
A woman loaded some items into the trunk of her car in a driveway at about 5 a.m. Sunday to head home after vacation, then went into the house and returned to the car to find things missing.
The victim phoned the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office. The stolen items included a GPS, a laptop, a bag of costume jewelry and two diamond rings. The victim said she didn’t have any serial numbers available because she was on vacation, but would check when she returns to her home state of Ohio.
Cruisin’ in purple
7:07 p.m. — First Block of Emerson Drive. Burglary.
A deputy went to a home to check out a report of a burglary. The victim said an unknown person came into her open garage and made off with her purple beach cruiser, worth about $80. No evidence was available for deputies to process.
I do believe an intruder is in my car
10:43 p.m. — First Block of Westfalls Lane. Burglary.
A deputy arrived at the home to speak with the victim, who said he’d gone out in front of his home to close his garage door, which was partially open. When the garage door started moving, the victim saw a man going through his vehicle, a white 2004 Ford Crown Victoria.
The victim tried to confront the intruder, who ran through the front yard and then the backyard toward Westfield Lane. The victim said the man was wearing a black jacket, red hoodie, jeans and boots. When the victim searched his car, he realized a DC/AC converter, worth about $50, was missing. The victim and his father walked around the outside of the house searching for the thief before police arrived, so deputies weren’t able to do K9 search.
Monday, Oct. 7
That’s just not cool
8:12 a.m. — First Block of Leanni Way. Larceny.
A man told deputies he left his office and returned to it later to find all of the copper missing from the office building’s three Trane air conditioners. The air conditioning units are concealed from public view. A deputy canvassed the area but didn’t find anyone who had seen anything suspicious. The deputy told the office employee he would put an extra watch on the building.
