2:06 a.m. — 2000 block of Grove Avenue, Bunnell
Possession of drug paraphernalia. A 24-year-old Bunnell man was stopped by police for riding his bicycle on the wrong side of the road. He also had no lights on his bicycle.
The reporting officer noted in an arrest report that the man was with two "other subjects who are known drug users," and that the trio attempted to accelerate away from law enforcement prior to being stopped. The man was sweaty, breathing heavily and wouldn't make eye contact, the officer noted.
When asked if he was in possession of any drugs, the man hesitated and glanced at his right pocket before he said, "no." He emptied his pockets, and the reporting officer saw a cut straw and a glass pipe with burnt residue. The other subjects the man was with had nothing of note on their persons.
The residue in the glass pipe tested positive for methamphetamine. He was taken to jail.
3:33 p.m. — Intersection of Whipporwill Drive and Whiteview Parkway, Palm Coast
Possession of fentanyl. A deputy was responding to a call of a man sleeping in the driver's seat of his vehicle, which was stopped on the side of the roadway. The man, a 32-year-old Palm Coast man, told deputies that he was passed out because he was tired.
Deputies observed drug paraphernalia "in plain view" inside the car, according to the man's arrest report. The man was then secured in handcuffs, and when asked about the paraphernalia, he said he was told narcotics would help him with pain, and that he had smoked some heroin and meth that morning.
A small plastic bag with fentanyl was found inside the car, in addition to methamphetamine and a hydrocodone pill. While taking him to jail, the man offered to give the deputy information on "two big time busts" if he released him. The deputy declined, and the man began kicking the inside of the patrol vehicle.
He was taken to jail.
4:58 a.m. — 2000 block of Commerce Parkway, Bunnell
Carrying a concealed weapon. A deputy was patrolling the area near a fast food restaurant when she observed a suspicious person.
This was a 36-year-old Palm Coast woman who was waiving her hands "frantically" over head and holding a pink purse as she ran toward the deputy's patrol vehicle, according to the woman's arrest report. The woman told the deputy that she was unsure if people were in her car and admitted that she had just taken molly.
The woman asked the deputy to check her car and handed over her keys because she didn't know if "people were after her," her arrest report states. When asked if she had any weapons on her person, the woman said she had a set of "metallic knuckles" in her pink purse. She pointed to her car, which had its driver's side door ajar and had several items — two blankets and a cooler — scattered outside it.
Deputies found cocaine inside her vehicle. She was taken to jail.
