My name is John Smith

July 30

5:38 p.m. 5400 block of North Oceanshore Boulevard.

Disturbance verbal: At a gas station, a man in a woman were drinking beer at Subway, which is not allowed. The employee asked them leave, but they refused.

When a deputy arrived, the woman asked why she had to leave. The deputy said the property owner had a right to ask them to leave or to request a tresspass.

The deputy asked for the names of the man and woman, and they said they didn't have to give their names. The deputy said this was an investigation, so, yes, they did have to give their names. The woman complied and gave her ID. The man said he didn't have ID with him and said his name was John Smith.

The deputy didn't buy it. He told "John Smith" that it was against the law to give a false name. The woman then revealed his real name, and the man was arrested. The deputy later found his ID card, which he claimed was missing.
