Just a little 'watercolor'? Kids suspected of trying to dump paint in well

3:10 p.m. Sesame Boulevard and Sleepy Hollow Trail. Property damage: Someone called the Sheriff's Office to report two kids they believed were dumping paint down a city of Palm Coast well that is not yet in use. The well is being added as part of the city's wellfield expansion. Deputies caught one of the kids, who denied opening the well and putting anything in it. A city contractor lowered a camera into the well and didn't find any evidence that the well was compromised, a city spokeswoman said. A surveillance camera has been added at the site, and the well will be fenced in before it goes into service.

Thief who stole car, returned it with condom wrapper left behind suspected of breaking into it again

11:16 p.m. First block of Round Tree Drive. Attempted stolen vehicle: A thief who stole a local man's Chevy Malibu March 15 and then returned it to the driveway with a condom wrapper on the floorboards — and kept the car's keys — is suspected of returning for more shenanigans. The victim told deputies that after the March 15 break-in he'd had the ignition re-keyed, but hadn't altered the car's door locks, so the stolen keys could still open the doors. The night of March 25, he heard the car alarm go off and saw a man in a sweatshirt sitting in the driver's seat of the car. The man ran, and the victim chased him. The victim told deputies he believed the thief was the same one who took the car March 15.  Deputies couldn't find the thief.
