Drunk woman kicks deputy, gets arrested

7:36 p.m. First block of Point of Woods Drive

Disorderly intoxication, battery on a law enforcement officer. A deputy responded to a 911 call about a drunk woman causing a disturbance.

When the deputy arrived, the woman was yelling and screaming, using profanity. She refused to lower her voice when told to do so. The deputy arrested the woman for disorderly intoxication and placed her in a patrol car.

As he did so, the woman kicked him in the shin. The deputy added a charge of battery on a law enforcement officer.

Traffic stop leads to drug bust

7:51 p.m. First block of Bunker Knolls Lane

Fleeing and eluding law enforcement; possession of cocaine, fentanyl and MDMA; reckless driving. A deputy noticed a car tailgating and weaving through traffic on Cypress Point Parkway and Cypress Edge Drive.

The deputy activated lights and sirens to stop the vehicle. The driver, a 37-year-old Palm Coast man, pulled over.

But he argued with the deputy, then — when another deputy prepared to walk a K-9 around the car — sped off as the deputies yelled at him to stop.

The driver ran a solid red light, drove into oncoming traffic and reached speeds of approximately 100 mph before a deputy used stop sticks to deflate the car's tires.

The driver eventually stopped the car, but then started running before eventually surrendering to deputies when they warned him that a K-9 was on his trail. Deputies found bags of cocaine, fentanyl, cannabis and other drugs in the car and arrested the man.
