Burglar steals thousands of dollars of electronics

12:15 a.m. First block of Blakemore Drive. Residential burglary: A 47-year-old man went bowling at about 9 p.m., and when he got back home, found his front door unlocked. He'd locked it when he left, he told a deputy. Inside, all the doors to his entertainment system were open, and his $200 Nintendo Wii was gone. So was his $149 camera bag and his $579 Canon camera, plus $1800 worth of lenses. The thief also stole a $349 Samsung S2 tablet, a $479 Toshiba laptop and a $200 watch. Altogether, the burglar had stolen $3,756 worth of the man's possessions.

Thief steals cash, check from car

9:34 a.m. 100 block of Beechwood Lane. Car break-in: When a man noticed April 10 that his cars had been rummaged through, his first thought wasn't that he'd been burgled: He assumed his son had gone through the cars. So at first, he didn't call the Sheriff's Office. Then he realized that whoever had rummaged through his Nissan Sentra and Toyota Tundra had taken cash and a check from the Tundra. Nothing was stolen from the Nissan. When a deputy canvassed the area, a neighbor said his car had been broken into as well, though nothing was stolen.
