AUG. 18
Quarter red-handed
10:30 a.m. — 1500 Block of Palm Coast Parkway. Larceny. A complainant stated that, sometime between July 12 and Aug. 18, an unknown suspect made entry into his employer’s commercial vacuum/air pump with a key and stole approximately $323.50 in quarters.
The complainant was unable to provide an exact date of theft or any information on possible suspects, but advised that he would be changing the locks to prevent future thefts. The case lacked proper evidence to pursue further.

5:30 p.m. — First Block of Port Royal Drive. Larceny motor vehicle. A victim advised that his vehicle had been burglarized sometime during the night. While walking his dog earlier that morning, he noticed papers had been scattered in the car and the center console was open. Upon further examination, he found that $25 in coins, a Verizon Trac phone and a garage door opener were missing from the vehicle.
Total missing property was valued at $55, and the outside of the vehicle was not fingerprinted due to compromising weather. There were no known possible suspects or suspicious persons recently observed in the area.
AUG. 20
Wave to the camera
3:30 p.m. — 1200 Block of Palm Coast Parkway. Larceny. An employee reported having seen a juvenile enter a fitting room with several items and leave shortly afterward, with nothing in hand. The fitting room was empty when examined, and the suspect exited the store, passing all points of sale.
Upon confronting the suspect in the parking lot, the employee discovered $196 of stolen property concealed on her person. All property was returned to the store, and a trespass warning was served until proof of shoplifting can be reviewed on surveillance video.
The suspect’s grandmother and parent arrived on the scene to pick her up.
All fun and video games
3:30 p.m. — First Block of Bennett Lane. Burglary residential. A victim advised that sometime within the past two weeks, while he had been living and working in South Florida, several items were missing from his residence. The victim noticed that the lock on the door on the side of the garage had been changed and the garage door had sustained damage to the locking mechanism. There were no signs of forced entry.
The victim stated that the home is in foreclosure; he suspects the company hired to maintain his residence may be responsible for the missing property. Stolen items include stereo equipment, an Xbox, a Nintendo Wii, two computers, three ceiling fans and 50 DVDs, among other things. Various neighbors advised having seen cars in the driveway within the time of the crime, but did not notice any items being removed from the residence.

8 a.m. — First Block of Blare Drive. Burglary residential. A victim stated that he was awoken in the morning by his roommate’s daughter informing him that the TV was missing from the living room. He advised that when he went to bed the night before, the front door was unlocked and the alarm had not been set.
The victim stated that he believes his roommate has something to do with the burglary but has no proof. When the victim confronted his roommate about the missing TV, the roommate became very defensive and intentionally put his hands all over the entertainment center, covering it in his own fingerprints. There were no signs of forced entry, and no evidence was collected. There are no suspects at this time.
AUG. 23
Caveat emptor
4 p.m. — 100 Block of Florida Park Drive. Fraud. A victim advised that she had purchased two Apple iPads through a Craigslist ad and had not received them. After placing her order and not receiving them after some time, she contacted the seller, and he promised to put them in the mail. Shortly after that, he contacted her again and informed her that his employee had accidentally sent her 12 iPads instead of two. The seller advised he would not release the iPads from the warehouse until he received $3,000.
The victim already paid for her two purchases and advised the seller that she refused to pay for all 12 iPads. The seller refuses to give her money back or deliver the iPads. The victim has contacted the seller’s state law enforcement but was unable to provide any other information.

2:30 p.m. — First Block of Pillar Lane. Larceny. While shopping at the grocery store, a victim’s 3GS iPhone was stolen after she placed it on top of a gum machine at the front of the store. An unknown suspect removed the phone without her permission or consent. The victim checked with customer service but was met with negative results, and no one was able to be identified on the surveillance video.
