Hungry for bananas
8:35 a.m. — First Block of Boulder Rock Drive. Hit-and-run accident. A victim stated that he was waiting for a light to turn green when a white pickup truck rear-ended him and left the scene. A witness observed the pickup truck stop at a parking lot down the road and attempt to fix his bumper.
A deputy arrived and observed the white pickup truck with front-end damage, but there was no driver.
Then, the deputy saw a man in a white T-shirt “retreat” into a store in the parking lot. He was located hiding behind a banana display cart in the produce department.
“I was waiting for you,” the suspect said. He said he didn’t want to block traffic, so he drove to the parking lot. It should be noted that the crash occurred approximately one mile away from the parking lot where the suspect was waiting. He said he went inside to buy a banana.
The suspect was placed under arrest for leaving the scene of a crash and failure to report a crash. He was taken to the Flagler County Inmate Facility without incident.

Fish safety at risk
5:30 p.m. — First Block of Lloleeta Path. Larceny. A victim stated that she moved out of the house but still owns it and plans to rent it out. She stated that a fishpond and its water fountain had been stolen, along with three ladders and four metal shelves. Some rocks were also removed from around the fishpond, but the deputy could not determine whether any rocks had been stolen.
A witness saw another woman dumping water out of the pond and dragging it to the street. The woman then told the witness that she had permission to remove the pond, but the victim later stated that no one had permission to remove anything. No suspects have been located.
‘Some guy’
11:11 p.m. — 800 Block of Palm Coast Parkway. Stolen vehicle. A woman called from a gas station and said her car had been stolen. She was given a ride back to her R-section home.
The woman stated she went inside the convenience store at the gas station and then realized she didn’t have her keys. She backtracked and then noticed her car was gone. Another customer told her, “Some guy took your car.”
The car, a 2012 Nissan Sentra, also contained her hand bag with $78 and an inhaler inside. No surveillance video was available.
