MAY 27
A cruel yoke
8:46 a.m. — 5000 Block of East State Road 100. Criminal Mischief. A woman advised that she arrived to work at approximately 4 p.m. When she returned to her vehicle at approximately 9:30 p.m., she observed that her vehicle had been egged. There were approximately two eggs smashed and dripping on the front hood section.

After reviewing surveillance video footage, nothing pertaining to the incident could be seen. A few vehicles were shown driving slowly past her vehicle, but no one was seen walking around or throwing things. The victim stated that she does not know exactly who may have done this, but that it could possibly be a former employee.

MAY 28
Clothes horse
10:49 a.m. — 100 Block of Cypress Point Parkway. Larceny Shoplifting. An employee observed two males enter his store and proceed to the men’s department. He observed one male select a pair of shorts from the shelf and put them on over his existing shorts. He was also observed selecting a T-shirt and concealing it from view in between his two pairs of shorts.

The other male selected two pairs of tank tops from the shelf and concealed them inside his shorts pocket.

The two males then proceeded to the front of the store where they passed all points of sale and left without paying. The total value of the merchandise they had concealed was $43.88.

Both males were placed under arrest for retail theft and given a notice to appear for June 12. They were both released from custody.

MAY 29
Bicycle bandit
8:56 a.m. — First Block of Leaver Drive. Burglary Residential. A victim stated that sometime between 10:30 p.m. and morning, someone walked inside his garage and took his son’s bicycles. The victim was sure the garage door was down and locked when they went to bed, so he believes the side door was unlocked, since there were no signs of forced entry.

One of the bikes was a dark blue BMX bike valued at $350, and the other was a red and gray Mongoose valued at $150.

He suspects that a particular fifth-grade boy may be involved in the incident but does not know for sure. The suspect showed interest in the bikes previously and even offered to buy them. The victim and officer exchanged contact information for a follow-up later on.

Wallet stolen
10:32 p.m. — 200 Block of Palm Coast Parkway Northeast. Larceny. While at work, a victim placed her wallet and car keys inside a black plastic bag that contained some potato chips she had purchased, and set it on the counter. When she went to retrieve her belongings, the bag was no longer there. She described the wallet as a light-pink leather Volcom wallet, which contained her driver’s license, debit card, ABC card, $10 cash and college credit card. She stated that only corporate headquarters could review any possible surveillance video, and was advised to contact the Sheriff’s Office if such a video could be obtained.
