Gun, jewelry, electronics, pillow cases
6:08 p.m. — First Block of Furness Place. Burglary Residential. A victim stated that sometime between the hours of 7:35 a.m. and 6 p.m., an unknown suspect broke into her residence. The rear window to the master bedroom in the screened-in lanai was smashed out, and there were drawers opened and items scattered throughout the house. The victim stated that her silver Dell laptop, a Sony video camera, miscellaneous gold and silver jewelry, $35 cash and a .357 Magnum revolver were all stolen from the residence.
An attempt to locate fingerprints was met with negative results. The victim stated a pillow case was stolen off one of her pillows as well as off one in her son’s bedroom. She located what appeared to be a small blood stain on a pillow case on her bed, which was then seized and submitted for evidence.
People in glass houses
8:22 a.m. — First Block of Farraday Lane. Property Damage. A complainant stated that he was checking on a vacant property owned by the bank. When he arrived at the property at approximately 8:45 a.m., he found that the glass to the front door was smashed. He advised the door was still locked, and the hole in the glass was not big enough for a person to climb into. After checking the rest of the building, it appeared that everything else was locked and OK. It did not appear anyone had made entry into the building, and there are no suspects. The cost to fix the door is approximately $500.
MAY 2
Black nylon holster
3:32 p.m. — 5000 Block of North Oceanshore Boulevard. Property Found/Lost. A loaded Armscor 206 revolver was located under some debris behind a pavilion.
It was found underneath leaves and in a black nylon holster. The revolver is a .38 special with a short barrel and black finish. It is loaded with six full metal jacket .38-caliber rounds.
The man who found the gun did not know who owned it and was concerned that someone would pick it up. He could not provide any further information, and the gun was placed into found property.
