Counterfeit bill refused
10:19 a.m. — 100 Block of Cypress Point Parkway. Fraud. The manager of a gas station advised deputies that a heavy-set male with a shaved head attempted to pay for his merchandise with a counterfeit $50 bill.
At the time of the incident, she advised the male that she could not accept the bill, and he told her that he could not believe it — he said he received it from another store. He also attempted to pay for the merchandise with a credit card, which was declined.
He was unable to find enough money and re-entered the store to advise her that he was unable to pay for the merchandise. The male was driving a black unknown vehicle with an unknown tag.
The $50 bill was placed into evidence. The surveillance video that was provided did not work.

Nothing up my sleeve …
10:01 p.m. — 200 Block of St. Joe Plaza Drive. Narcotics. While a deputy was on patrol in the parking lot of a restaurant, a young man was operating a 1997 Chevy Camaro in the parking lot. The vehicle tags were expired in February 2011, and the deputy approached him for this reason.
As the driver’s side door opened, the deputy smelled burned marijuana inside the car and emitting from the driver. The deputy located a marijuana cigar in the center console. The cigar contained approximately 1.6 grams of marijuana.
The driver was then arrested, and the deputy conducted a thorough search of the car. The deputy located a small, blue plastic bag in the right-front pants pocket. The bag contained two white pills, which the deputy immediately recognized as Xanax. The man could not produce a subscription for the Xanax.
This driver received a written warning for the expired tag and a citation for driving with a suspended license. His vehicle was turned over to a friend, and the contraband was submitted to the evidence division.

Mystery drunk shopper
9:15 p.m. — 100 Block of Cypress Point Parkway. Intoxication. The store manager advised deputies that a middle-aged male was walking around, drinking from an open bottle of liquor and had an open knife sitting in plain view in the shopping cart.
This suspect was loud and disruptive, and the manager was contacted about this incident by concerned customers. The deputy who arrived on scene noticed that this man was stumbling as he walked, had blood shot eyes, and smelled strongly of alcohol. The deputy asked the man if the knife was his, and he stated, “Yes.” He was placed into custody for safety reasons, and at this time, the man became loud and began yelling obscenities. He was arrested for disorderly intoxication and was transported to the Flagler County Inmate Facility.

I’ve seen that face before
1:57 a.m. — Belle Terre Parkway and Parkview Drive. Narcotics. A deputy saw a silver Toyota approach an intersection and turn north onto Belle Terre Parkway. The vehicle rolled through the stop sign without coming to a complete stop.
The deputy made contact with the 19-year-old driver and sole occupant of the vehicle and advised him of the reason for the traffic stop. The deputy knew this man well from his extensive arrest history. The deputy requested the young man’s driver’s license, registration and proof of insurance. He appeared to be extremely nervous; his hands were shaking uncontrollably, and he avoided eye contact.
The deputy requested a K-9 unit for backup. After the driver gave consent to search, the deputies located a clear baggie inside the center console. The baggie contained a white rock-like substance, which was identified as 13.6 grams of crack cocaine.
A clear baggie containing 2.2 grams of marijuana was located between the left side of the driver’s seat and the hard plastic beneath the driver’s seat. The man was placed under arrest and transported to the Flagler County Inmate Facility without incident.
May 15
Candid camera
7 p.m. — 5100 Block of East State Road 100. Larceny. A woman advised that her daughter rode one of the family bicycles to a store and that the bicycle was stolen while she was shopping.
The 15-year-old victim left the bicycle in the bike rack without a lock by the west entrance of the store. This missing bicycle is a ladies, light-purple Schwinn.
The loss-prevention officer reviewed the video surveillance and advised that the video shows a male removing the bicycle at 6:17 p.m. Identification is impossible, however, because the surveillance camera is placed too far away.
