Jan. 12
Boob tube booster
2:08 p.m. — 5100 Block of East State Road 100. Larceny Shoplifting. A deputy responded to a store on State Road 100 in reference to a shoplifter. A man was exiting the grocery side of the store while pushing a shopping cart containing a 32-inch Philips LCD TV.

He passed all points of sale without attempting to pay for the item. The man also removed a pocketknife from its package and was attempting to remove the spider security device on the box prior to leaving the store and still had the knife in his possession.

While the deputy made his way through traffic in the parking lot, he observed the man quickly walking out of the store and pushing the shopping cart with the TV box inside the cart. The man was placed in the deputy’s patrol vehicle and was read Miranda. He told police he was pushing the cart to his vehicle so that he could retrieve his credit card. The man was placed under arrest for grand theft and was issued a trespass warning. The man was transported to the Flagler County Inmate Facility without incident.

Jan. 13
Building a tree house in the woods?
8 p.m. — First Block of Forrester Place. Larceny. A man was working at a construction site when a Worker’s Compensation insurance investigator came to the site. The investigator then stated that the person he wanted to speak to ran into the woods and hid from the investigator.

The runaway took this employer’s tools, two drills, one radio, two hammers, two tool pouches, an extension cord and a level. He put the items in his truck, left and has not returned since. The employer stated the items stolen totaled $375. He told police that the runaway owed him back pay and wrote him a worthless check. The victim provided police with a statement in reference to the stolen tools and signed charges on the man.

Jan. 25
Next, try on an orange jumpsuit
1:30 p.m. — 1200 Block of Palm Coast Parkway North East. Larceny Shoplifting. A store employee reported a shoplifter in custody. She told police that a suspect in the store selected shoes and miscellaneous clothing items and entered the fitting room. She then observed that upon exiting the fitting room, the items were missing.

She checked the fitting room and nearby clothing racks, but the items were missing. The woman approached the suspect, identifying herself as the loss-prevention officer, and escorted her to the back of the store. She recovered approximately $152 in merchandise from this suspect. The young woman was arrested and transported to the Flagler County Inmate Facility.

 

LOCK IT OR LOSE IT

Jan. 21
Cashless
7 a.m. — First Block of Foster Lane. Larceny Motor Vehicle. A woman told police that her purse was taken out of her vehicle overnight by an unknown person. The woman advised that she left her vehicle unlocked with her purse in the center console. She also told police that when she woke up, she went out to her vehicle and found that her purse was missing. She said the purse contained her wallet with $300 in cash, a food stamp card, a child support card, and her Social Security card. There are no suspects or witnesses.

Gameless
11:30 a.m. — 1190 Block of County Road 302. Larceny. A woman told police that she packed a bag of personal belongings for her son Jan. 21. She is now unable to find a Nintendo DS gaming system.
The woman is also missing approximately 30 games that were packed with the unit.

She told police that she did not lock the front door to her residence but was unable to find anything else missing. There was nothing out of place or disturbed inside the residence. She is not sure how the items ended up missing. There are no suspects at this time.
