Feb. 1
Busted Benz
6:57 a.m.—200 Block of Flagler Plaza. Larceny Motor Vehicle. A New Jersey woman staying at a hotel stated that sometime during the night, an unknown person smashed out the rear window of her Mercedes Benz GL-350.
A hotel employee, who helped the woman clean up around the car, stated there are no security cameras outside of the building.
Lights out
1 a.m. — First Block of Eastman Lane. Property Damage. A man told police that someone broke into his mailbox and also broke the left-rear tail light on his vehicle. The man believes that this incident took place at 1 a.m. because his wife heard several loud noises coming from outside. When she looked outside, she did not see any vehicle or persons.
Police noted the top of the mailbox had been knocked to the ground. Several pieces of the lens from the man’s tail light were lying on the driveway and in the roadway. There were no suspect tire tracks or footprints located in the immediate area.
Owner’s manual no more
8:30 a.m. — First Block of Ferber Lane. Larceny Motor Vehicle. A man advised police that his Mercury Marauder was burglarized. He advised that he left the doors to his vehicle unlocked. A folder containing his owner’s manual for the 2003 Mercury Marauder was missing.
Bad first impression
9 a.m. — First Block of Red Oak Place. Burglary Residence. A woman stated that she has been in the process of moving from New York to Palm Coast. The woman arrived in the morning and noticed some items were missing from the residence. The residence was locked upon her arrival, and all of the windows and sliding glass door were locked. There were several valuable items inside the residence; a camera, Microsoft Xbox game system, and the house telephone were stolen. The deputy observed pry marks by the front door approximately 12 inches above and below the door handle.
Scary thought: revolver missing
10:30 a.m. — First Block of Casper Drive. Property Lost. A man stated that his father just recently passed away, and he was cleaning out the house. He noticed that his father’s .38 Special Revolver was missing. The young man stated that he is not sure where the gun is at this time and wants to report it lost.
Feb. 2
Tools taken from Amigo
5 a.m. — First Block of Ferndale Lane. Larceny Motor Vehicle. A woman advised that her 1994 Isuzu Amigo was burglarized sometime overnight. Her vehicle’s doors were locked, but there were no signs of forced entry, nor any disturbed dust around the edges of the doors or windows. She advised that the only item that appears missing is a black Husky toolbox containing miscellaneous tools.

Jan. 25
Missing tailgate
10 p.m. — 100 Block of Cypress Point Parkway. Larceny. A woman told police that she came to work at a store at approximately 2:30 p.m. When she came out to her truck, she noticed that her tailgate was missing. Her truck was parked in the far west side of the parking lot when this occurred. She stated that she has already spoken with management. They have reviewed the surveillance tape from the time of the incident and could not see anything incriminating.
The woman bought the pickup truck used but believed that it was the dark blue factory tailgate that came with the car. She estimates the tailgate’s worth at approximately $300, and there are no suspects at this time.
