Feb. 16
Trunk or treat?
12:38 a.m. — First Block of Lloyd Trail in Palm Coast. Obstruction of Justice. A deputy arrived at the suspect’s house just before the suspect’s girlfriend pulled into the driveway. The deputy heard mumbling from the trunk of the car, and he asked the girlfriend to open the trunk.
 

At first, she refused, but then said: “He’s in the trunk. If I open it, will I still go to jail?” At this time the woman was placed under arrest, and the young man taken into custody by the deputy.

March 9
‘Leaf’ me alone!
3:22 a.m. — First Block of Rickenbacker Drive. Narcotics. During a patrol, a deputy spotted two juveniles walking on the side of the road.
 

When the deputy asked one of the males if he had any weapons, the man said “No, only my pipe.” When asked if he had anything else in his pockets, he pulled out a metal grinder with marijuana in it. He was placed under lawful arrest for possession of marijuana under 20 grams and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.

April 10
Car wanders home
7 a.m. — 200 Block of Airport Road. Auto Theft. Sometime during the night, a silver 2010 Hyundai Accent was turned in anonymously. The keys were found in the drop box. The vehicle had been entered as stolen April 8, by Daytona Beach Police Department.

May 29
Follow the ‘muddy’
8:34 a.m. — First Block of Flemington Lane. Property Damage. A woman stated that some time during the night an unknown suspect drove a vehicle through the woman’s front lawn.
 

The woman did not hear or see anything during the night but advised that she saw a mud-covered truck down the street and tire tracks leading away from the residence where the truck was parked.
 

The owner of the truck stated he did not drive home last night and was unaware of the incident.

June 3
Airport scanner needed?
4:50 p.m. — 4900 Block of Belle Terre Parkway. Larceny Shoplifting. A white male concealed merchandise in his pants.
 

The loss-prevention officer observed the male approach the cashier and pay for the merchandise in the shopping cart but fail to pay for the merchandise in his pants. The man exited the grocery store, and the officer then escorted him into the manager’s office until the deputy arrived.

July 11
McStolen Car
1:30 p.m.—First Block of Blairsville Drive. Grand Theft Auto. A deputy was advised that the victim has been seeing a 25- to 26-year-old woman from another city. The woman stated she wanted to get something to eat at McDonald’s. She asked the victim if she could take his car, and he agreed.
 

The victim stated that he has been trying to contact the woman since she left, with no luck. The car was a 2009 Kia Spectra.

Aug. 15
Offender offended
12:29 p.m. — First Block of Whelan Place. Trespassing. A man stated that six juveniles often congregate in an empty lot across the street from his house. This man and his wife, after returning home from church, found their mailbox filled with rocks. Also, an unknown male threw a red brick one month ago at his mailbox.
 

The man has asked them to stop harassing him and his property. He is a registered sex offender and wanted to report this incident before he was falsely accused of a crime.

Sept. 17
Scooter loses its scoot
11:30 a.m. — 800 Block of Belle Terre Parkway. Larceny. A deputy made contact with a victim in the parking lot of a church. The victim stated that someone stole the battery out of his motorized scooter. There are no suspects at this time.

Oct. 2
I’d recognize that gel seat anywhere
8 a.m. — First Block of Poplar Drive. Burglary. A woman advised her bicycle was stolen from her garage. The bike was purchased 20 years ago and cost $950 at that time. The bike had a water bottle with a mounting bracket, an air pump and a gel seat.
 

The victim stated she did not have the serial number for the bike but would recognize it if she saw it. There are no suspects or witnesses.
