We’re gonna need a bigger purse
12:41 p.m. — 1200 Block of Palm Coast Parkway South West. Larceny Shoplifting. A loss-prevention employee at a department store told police that he witnessed a female on the store’s surveillance system concealing jewelry items into her pockets and cutting off tags from other merchandise.
The woman then passed all points of sale without paying for the items. She was escorted to the loss-prevention office in the store. The woman turned over additional miscellaneous jewelry and clothing items concealed in her purse.
The value of all of the stolen merchandise is $316. The woman was placed under arrest for grand theft.
Jan. 7
To her ‘credit,’ she went to work
1 a.m. — First Block of Pennsylvania Lane. Property Lost. The victim left her residence to go to work in Holly Hill. Upon reaching Interstate 95, she remembered that she left her brown-and-black canvas purse on the trunk of her vehicle prior to leaving her home.
The woman continued on to work and looked for the purse at her residence when she returned home, but she was unable to locate the purse. In her brown and black canvas purse was a red wallet containing the woman’s New York and Florida driver’s licenses, six credit cards, three debit cards, a checkbook and $400.

Door-ding gnome strikes again
3:28 p.m. — 100 Block of Cypress Point Parkway. Vandalism. When she was leaving the store, the victim approached her vehicle and observed it had been scratched on the left-rear-quarter panel and the driver’s door.
The damage appeared to be caused by a shopping cart, but it is still unknown if the damage was intentional or accidental. The loss-prevention officer watched the surveillance video and did not observe anything suspicious. No vehicles hit the victim’s vehicle, and he only observed pedestrians walking near the car.
Jan. 9
Camping chairs go camping?
1:08 p.m. — First Block of Beaverdam Lane. Larceny. A woman stated the two black camping chairs, which used to be on her unscreened patio, were missing. The woman stated that she looked around the house and in the woods for the chairs but met with negative results.
She valued the chairs at $40 dollars each. There are no known suspects at this time.
SMASHING SUCCESS — FOR THIEVES
Jan. 9
Toss in a set of keys …
7:40 p.m. — 100 Block of Garden Street. Larceny Motor Vehicle. The victim of a car break-in advised that, as he was leaving work, he walked out to his 2004 Kia Rio. The man noticed his passenger side window was smashed out, and his black canvas bag was missing. The man stated that his extra car keys and house keys were in the bag. The man was issued a victim’s rights pamphlet and case card. No suspects have been identified at this time.

8:57 p.m. — First Block of Garden Street South. Larceny Motor Vehicle. A woman in the parking lot of a restaurant stated that she entered at 7:30 p.m. and left the restaurant approximately an hour later. The woman noticed the rear passenger window to her 2000 Nissan Altima was smashed out. The woman told police that the only thing taken out of her vehicle was a Kodak touch-screen camera with an unknown serial number. There are no suspects at this time.
