Sept. 25

Well, it's just a rental
12:22 p.m. — First Block of Rosecroft Lane. Property damage. A complainant stated that sometime on Sept. 25, damage was done to his rental car, a 2012 Chevy Malibu. A responding deputy observed a small crack in the lower right corner of the windshield and smudge marks around it, giving the appearance that something had been dropped on it. The deputy also observed two dents in the right rear side of the vehicle. The victim left a message with the rental company and returned the vehicle the following day.

Let sleeping dogs lie
2:34 p.m. — First Block of Braddock Lane. Animal bite. A doctor’s office informed the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office of a bite that took place after a victim went to his daughter’s residence. His daughter wasn’t home, so he used his key to unlock the front door and was bitten by his daughter’s 130-pound male dog, which was sleeping on the other side of the door.

The victim believes he startled the sleeping dog and absolutely does not wish to pursue the matter any further. The bites were not serious and did not require stitches, but it was the doctor’s office’s policy to report any incidents. The victim was given a case card and number for his medical records.

Good customer discount
6:58 p.m. — 100 Block of Cypress Point Parkway. Larceny. A deputy responded to a call from a manager, who advised he had conducted an investigation on an employee of the company. The manager had been made aware by other employees that the employee in question may have been assisting in stealing from the store by purposely not ringing up items at check out and putting them in the bag for customers who were her accomplices.

The manager checked video footages in light of the accusations and verified that the employee used several strategies to avoid payment. The items not paid for totaled $184.50.

When confronted by a deputy, the employee in question said she did not know the names of the customers but only that they come to her register often and face economic hardships. The manager completed a voluntary statement, and the employee was arrested and released with a notice to appear on scene.

Sept. 26

A victim advised that between 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Sept. 26 an unknown person or persons had entered the ppol deck of her residence and removed her 42-inch flat-screen TV that was on the deck. The TV was purchased for approximately $500. There were no signs of forced entry, but the pool deck doors do not have locks on them.
