The city of Palm Coast Community Development team is looking to enhance the City Council's business-friendly initiative by hosting several customer service charrettes — or discussions — to gather input on the city’s processes.
Local businesses are invited to attend the meeting at the Palm Coast Community Center on March 3 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Business owners can register to attend now through Feb. 24 at www.palmcoastconnect.com/s/business-march-3.
Staff will collect feedback from business owners to help leadership determine a baseline level of service and improve processes. Each group will be asked what is done well, what the pain points are, and what suggestions are needed for improvement. Participants will provide feedback and discussion through live polling and breakout sessions.
“Business owners are the backbone to the city’s economy and are important stakeholders in this community,” said Chief Development Officer Jason DeLorenzo. “We want them to be involved and give us feedback on how we can improve our processes that will help them succeed and grow.”
There are two other charrettes planned for building contractors and planning professionals. All of the meetings are focused on garnering feedback, which will be presented to the City Council at a later time and will help with budget and strategy going forward.
With City Council direction, the Community Development team recently completely redesigned the Business Tax Receipt process, including the formation of Business Review Extreme or BRX. BRX is a team of reviewers that work with new businesses to help get them get up and running as quickly as possible.
