+ World Day of Prayer is March 4
World Day of Prayer will be held 11 a.m. Friday, March 4, at Christ Lutheran Church, 2323 U.S. 1 N., Bunnell.

This year the theme of the day is “How Many Loaves have You?” and focuses on Chile and the devastating earthquake and collapse of a mine residents endured last year.

Bring a bag lunch; dessert and beverage will be provided by the host church.

The church will also be collecting canned goods. For more information, call 439-7772.

+ ‘The Case for Israel’ to be shown
The Central Florida premier of the award-winning documentary “The Case for Israel,” featuring Alan Dershowitz along with Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin “Bibi” Netanyahu and former Prime Minister Shimon Peres, will be 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, at Congregation B’nai Torah, 403 N. Nova Road, Ormond Beach.

The screening is free and open to the public. Call 672-6834.

+ Churches host Ash Wednesday
Flagler Beach United Methodist Church, 1520 S. Daytona Ave., Flagler Beach, will have distribution of ashes and services 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 9.

Ash Wednesday signals the beginning of the Lenten season for Christians around the world. 

All members of the community are welcome.

Palm Coast United Methodist Church, 5200 Belle Terre Parkway, will hold the Ash Wednesday evening service 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 9.

The worship service will include a Lenten message, the offering of Holy Communion and the imposition of ashes.

Participation in the ritual of ashes is not required of those attending. Childcare is not available; however, a special children’s lesson time will be held in the Fellowship Hall, with children attending worship at the time of Holy Communion.

+ Mount Calvary Baptist hosts revival
The Rev. Bertrand Bailey Jr., from Mount Pleasant, Texas, will be the facilitator for a spring revival, which will be hosted by the Rev. Edwin Coffie and Mount Calvary Baptist Church of Palm Coast.

Services will begin 6:15 p.m with prayer and praise, with the revival beginning 7 p.m. March 8 through March 10. Call 447-5719.
