The city of Palm Coast is hosting its second-annual Cause for Paws event 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at Central Park at Town Center.

The public is invited, whether you own an Alaskan malamute, a Chihuahua, a kitten or a parrot — whether you are a new pet owner or have taken care of animals forever.

Cause for Paws will provide tips for responsible pet care. There will be a variety of pet-related vendors, music and refreshments. Leashed animals are welcome to attend.

The day’s agenda includes dog obedient training sponsored by PetSmart at 10:30 a.m., a Pet Parade at 11:30 a.m., and a Battle of the Bands sponsored by Pet Supermarket at 12:30 p.m.

The Flagler Humane Society will offer low-cost immunizations and microchipping. Adoptions will also be available through various pet rescues. There will also be animal licensing by the city of Palm Coast Animal Control, K-9 demonstrations by the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office and free photos with Ariel, the Palm Coast Fire Department’s dalmatian.
