A domestic violence case against a former Flagler County Sheriff’s Office detective has been dropped.
Ronn Rauber was arrested in March on charges of domestic battery after deputies responded to a 911 call regarding a disturbance. A woman told deputies that Rauber had pinned her to the wall, but Rauber said it was only a verbal argument.
The woman refused to sign charges against Rauber, according to his arrest report.
The State Attorney’s Office announced on Monday that it will not pursue charges against Rauber, said Klare Ly, public information officer. The woman involved filed an affidavit saying that the argument was verbal, not physical, Ly said.
Rauber was suspended following his arrest. He retired from the Sheriff’s Office the next month, according to an email from the agency’s human resources department dated April 4.
