Celebrate the Fourth of July in Flagler County with fireworks, food, fun

Tuesday, July 3

Fireworks in the Park

When: 5-9:30 p.m.

Where: Central Park in Town Center, 975 Central Ave.

Cost: Free

Details: Celebrate Independence Day with the city of Palm Coast's fireworks celebration. There will be food trucks, face painting, music games and more, followed by the fireworks display at 9 p.m. The city is providing the event in partnership with the Flagler Education Foundation. While food and drinks will be available for purchase, coolers and pop-up tents are also allowed. Beginning at 5 p.m., the intersection of Lake Avenue and City Place will be closed off to set up fireworks. Wednesday, July 4

By the Dawn’s Early Light

When: 8 a.m.

Where: Heroes Memorial Park, 2860 Palm Coast Parkway NW

Cost: Free

Details: The city of Palm Coast will have a public Independence Day Ceremony titled "By the Dawn's Early Light" where guest speakers President of the Flagler Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution Randall Morris and Palm Coast Mayor Milissa Holland will present. A U.S. Naval cannon will be fired by Ret. Navy Capt. J. Randall Stapleford. The Palm Coast Community Band will perform several songs. Flagler County Sheriff's Deputy Kenny Goncalves will be the vocalist for “God Bless America.” The presentation of colors will be done by the Palm Coast Fire Department Honor Guard, and the Pledge of Allegiance will be led by Mayor Holland and the Palm Coast City Council. In case of rain, the ceremony will be held at nearby Fire Station 21, 9 Corporate Drive, Palm Coast. Contact Palm Coast Communications and Marketing Manager Cindi Lane at 986-3708.

 

Fabulous Fourth Parade

When: 10 a.m. to noon

Where: A1A, Flagler Beach

Cost: Free

Details: Celebrate the best of the red, white and blue by lining the streets to watch the annual Flagler Beach Fourth of July parade.

 

Flagler Beach Fourth of July schedule

Where: Veterans Park, 105 S. Second St., Flagler Beach

3-7 p.m.: ongoing cornhole tournament 

4:30-5 p.m.: ice cube eating content and watermelon eating contest

5-5:30 p.m.: potato toss game

5:30 p.m.: pageants

5:30-6 p.m.: three-legged race and other relay races

6-6:30 p.m.: Limbo contest

6:30-7 p.m.: hula hoop contest

7-7:30 p.m.: water balloon toss

7:30-9 p.m.: music and karaoke

9-9:30 p.m.: fireworks at the pier
