The following is a press release from Flagler County:

Bids on donated items to raise funds for the Carver Center have topped $4,000, and the virtual auction is headed for the finish line.

“Bidders should keep a close eye on the progress of the auction if they want to make sure their bids are successful,” said County Commissioner Barbara Revels. “We have moved the deadline up to 6 p.m. June 15 to make it easier to track.”

The deadline for final bids was moved from midnight to 6 p.m. June 15 so the bids could be tabulated and updated as they come in. In the event of a tie — two bids with identical offers — the first bid received is the winning bid. No bids will be accepted via email after 6 p.m. June 15.

Those who want to watch the progress can do so by going on the Flagler County website, www.flaglercounty.org, and clicking on the Carver Center Auction in the “Hot Spot” in the lower right hand corner of the home page. The date and time of the most recent update is on top of the list of items and current bids.

One of the hottest items in the auction, a large coquina rock delivered to your door in Flagler County, is being donated by Sam Cline, president of S.E. Cline Construction. Bids on the rock have bounced from bidder to bidder with each determined to have the rock and the winning bid. An aerial tour of Flagler County by Property Appraiser and pilot Jay Gardner is also garnering a lot of attention.

To submit a bid, send an email to [email protected]. Name, address and phone number are required as part of the bid. The items and a description of the services and current bid are available on the county’s website.
